About

My name is Emma Shafer (she/her/hers) and I am an actor, director, and writer. In October 2021, I relocated from Seattle to New York.

Like all artists working to find their way in the pandemic, it's been a time of reevaluating and pivoting for me. With traditional theatre on hold, I've filled my creative cup in other ways. I had the opportunity to work on several Zoom shows. I dipped my toes into film and have been pleasantly surprised how much I like it. I even participated in a  sound residency program, called Cambient. An opportunity  I'd NEVER have thought to do previously. Recently, I completed a series of poems that will be published in tandem with a music EP titled "Fading Hues" by Josa Glück. The collaboration came out in the fall of 2022!

At the end of the day for me,  the process, the people, and the story are the most important. The medium is simply the vessel to get the story to the audience.
